The Florida Panthers (that play next to Parkland, Florida) just defeated a Canadian team (Edmonton Oilers) for their first Stanely Cup Finals win in 2024, at the time the Boston Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals. You’ll also recall the NBA & NHL Playoffs began for the first time on the same day, April 20, 2024, the 111th day of the year (and in the case of the NBA it was the 78th season).
