Aaron Judge bats the Yankees into the playoffs, October 3, 2021, his 161st day of his age.

Do you know where the 161 fits in?

If not, I bet you can figure it out.

Not a clue, the only thing I can think of is Aaron Judge is a man of colour and Civil Rights = 161

Probably wrong but that’s all that springs to mind so far

Good catch!!!I’ve got a feeling it’s something really really obvious though and we’re missing it

Zach is saying (I think), Yankees will go all to way to the World Series to play the LOS ANGELES Dodgers. Los Angeles = 161.

Again, another great catch…I hope he tells us what it is because I’ve been thinking all sorts…

My first thought was that it relates to July 23.
July 23 is the day leaving 161 days in the year, and 7 x 23 = 161. I believe that is only one of two days on our calendar that has the property where the month multiplied by the day gives the value of the days remaining after that date.

July 23 also links to baseball and sports in a couple of interesting ways. This year the Indians’ name change was announced on this date mimicking what happened on the same day last year with Washington in the NFL, and because these both have to do with Civil Rights it makes sense, as pointed out: Civil Rights = 161.

But more so think of Lou Gehrig one of the most famous Yankees of all time. He hit his first career grand slam on July 23 then went on to have a total of 23 career grand slams. Gehrig also famously died of a disease and we are in an era of “disease.”

23 is also the number of Perfect Games that have been pitched in the MLB. The only one of these done so in the World Series was pitched by the Yankees, and it was against the Brooklyn Dodgers who shortly thereafter moved to LA. Los Angeles = 161.

The Dodgers first season in LA was 1958: 1+9+5+8 = 23.

After losing back to back World Series the Dodgers became the only team to lose more WS than the Yankees who have lost 23. The Yanks have also won 27, and Larson who pitched the WS perfecto was 27, and the first ever perfect game was pitched by a 23 year old. The number of perfectos in the Modern Era is 21 and the year is ‘21.

The whole July 23 and 161 encoding is found in other sports as well. LeBron who has worn 23 and was a rookie in 2003 was born a span of 23 weeks (or 161 days) after July 23 and now plays in Los Angeles = 161.

Though Zach’s probably onto something else seeing as he seemed to be implying a simpler answer.

Ha, just re-read Zach’s posts from today. I completely missed the part on Stephenie Grisham’s birthday being July 23. His post came before mine but I swear it wasn’t intentional. A couple notes on this. It may be a bit lewd but Zach’s pointed out some of the Cabal’s off color jokes in the past and this one I caught. Grisham is a whistle “blower” and another infamous “blower” to come out of the White House was Monica Lewinsky, also born July 23.

    Grisham’s birth year is 1976 and 1+9+7+6 = 23.

One final tidbit I forgot to add on my initial comment about the Aaron Judge story.

    Aaron Judge = 174
    July twenty three = 174

And as for this pattern showing up in sports in the past think back to the 23rd Summer Olympics. The USA won 174 medals that year and the Games began later the same week as July 23, maybe a stretch but 5 days later to be exact. 2+3 = 5. They of course were held in LA. Los Angeles = 161.

    I think I’ve got it….

The Yankees played the Red Sox on 7/23 which was the day leaving 161 days left in the year which the Red Sox won 6-2

Aaron Judge secured a wild card place for the Yankees on 10/3 vs Tampa Bay on the 161st day of his age setting up a game against the Red Sox,a game they once again lost 6-2

Randy Arozarena stole home plate today, which will be a big sports story. Randy Arozarena = 161.

    Also, Arozarena = 144

  11. GTAuburn on October 7, 2021 at 8:58 pm

I just checked to see if Arozarena had done anything of note back this July 23, turns out he pulled off another rare baseball play on that day, hitting a “little league home run”, which is when you make it all around the bases and score on a hit that stays in the park usually due to defensive mistakes.

The team he was playing against was the Indians who announced their name change that day.
