This is a great album to take apart for its significance, but I must add that Fear Inoculum DOES NOT translate to “fear the thing in the vaccine.”
Fear Inoculum translates to Fear Vaccine. Which would connotate immunity against fear and having no fear. You might remember No Fear being a popular brand in the 90s and 00′.
Also, August 30, 2019 isn’t even a full 18 years after 9/11/2001, not 19 years. 19 years after 9/11 would be September 2020.
Right, I agree. I interpreted it in that way as well; like it was a vaccine against fear (hence the line: “bless this immunity”). It’s still very strange timing but it makes me wonder if they had prior knowledge of what was about to happen and were trying to tell people to not be afraid throughout the whole ordeal. Or maybe it was just inspiration from the collective consciousness. Who knows. There were several bands that released albums around that time with very strange “coincidences”

Fear Inocolum was released on Sony’s Volcano Records label. That is, TOOL has made a «pact with the Diablo». And yes, they make music to reflect on and with esoteric content, but nothing more, they still expect you to buy their records and fill their concerts… they are not independent, they work for the System.
