    I haven’t paid attention to this thread, but now that it’s all over I see that “Rombauer” won. You probably covered this, but in German “Rombauer” could mean “Rome Builder”. A “Bauer” is usually just a peasant, but the verb “bauern” means to build. “Bauer” can also mean architect.

    In 1968 the owner of Dancer’s Image (the only dq’d derby winner until medina spirit ) gave $62,000 to Coretta Scott King. Add 6 and 2 together and you get the post position for Medina Spirit which = 8. Going into the Preakness day Flavian Prat had a total in graded stakes of 12 firsts, 5 seconds, and 9 thirds for a total of 26 which of course is the inverse of 62.
