Actually, Imma dipshit. I was thinking of Shasta. I could not tell you why. Truckee on I-80, en route to Reno and is the town at/nearest the Donner Pass, site of the Donner Party. A harrowing tale if unfamiliar, theme is No Food and Cannibalism.
The Donner party left Springfield IL (home of Lincoln) on 4/29/1846. The ordeal lasted into the winter of ’47.
