Just to point out, in Los Angeles County, extending in to Ventura County, is the 118 fwy going East and West. It’s also called the Ronald Reagan fwy, as The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library is in Simi Valley off the 118 fwy (houses an old, retired Air force One). Heading East, the 118 eventually ends into the 210 or the 5 frwys. Heading West, the 118 turns into the 23, which will take you to Thousand Oaks. All of the freeways in California have alternate names depending on what area you’re in. The 405 is called the Santa Monica fwy, but it’s also called the San Diego fwy. Even numbered freeways go East and West. Odd numbered freeways go North and South. That’s the typical rule. There are so many freeways and highways, we don’t say the words “freeway” or “highway,” we just say “The 101, The 405, The 138…” Btw, the 118 is the best flowing fwy in Los Angeles County in my opinion. Traffic moves better on that one. The 101 is the worst! I just thought I’d mention this because I think of the freeways in LA every time you mention the number 118.
